Sorbact Compress
Sorbact Compress – Sterile wound dressing that binds bacteria and fungi for effective wound healing.
Effective wound dressing for infection prevention and treatment
Sorbact Compress is a sterile wound contact layer coated with DACC™ technology that binds bacteria and fungi, reducing the microbial load in both superficial and deep wounds. By preventing and treating wound infections, it facilitates the wound healing process.
Features and benefits
- Bacteria and fungi binding – Reduces microorganisms without the use of chemical substances.
- Non-absorbing – Allows wound exudate to pass through to a secondary dressing.
- Versatile use – Suitable for both superficial and deep wounds, including surgical wounds, trauma wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and leg ulcers.
- Compatible with NPWT – Can be used together with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) as a liner or wound filler.
- Safe and gentle – Contains no active substances that can cause resistance or allergic reactions.
Usage
- Preparation: Clean the wound and surrounding skin according to current clinical practice.
- Application: Choose an appropriate size of the dressing. The dressing can be unfolded to the desired size and may overlap the wound edges if needed. Place the dressing directly on the wound surface covering the entire wound.
- Secondary dressing: Apply an absorbent secondary dressing suitable for the amount of wound exudate and fix it in place.
- Changes: How often the dressing needs to be changed depends on the amount of wound exudate and the condition of the wound. If the clinical condition allows, the dressing can remain in place for up to seven days.
Important to know
- Single use only – Reuse may increase the risk of infection.
- Storage instructions: Store in a dry place protected from direct sunlight.
- Use with NPWT: Follow the instructions for the specific NPWT system when used in combination.
