Recognized effective disinfection

A globally patented disinfectant that kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Virkon (Virus control) is named after its well-documented effect against all virus families and is used today in almost all hospitals. Virkon is a compound product which, when activated with water, forms several disinfecting agents, the most important being hypochlorous acid.
Virkon also contains a fat-dissolving surfactant, which generally eliminates the need for cleaning before disinfection. Despite its well-documented effect, Virkon is not hazardous to health but should be used with respect, just like other chemicals.

Environment

Virkon is well environmentally adapted for its purpose. The components involved are present in very low concentrations and break down easily. Virkon is an acidic agent, which means that certain metals such as copper, brass, iron, and aluminum cannot tolerate longer contact times than a few minutes, but most materials tolerate Virkon well.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Applications Rely+On™ Virkon™ tablets solution is suitable for disinfection of surfaces from which infectious diseases can be transmitted in many environments. These include healthcare facilities, pathological and clinical research laboratories, food production, food handling, catering companies, hotels, and transport. Rely+On™ Virkon™ tablets solution is especially effective for preventive disinfection and terminal sanitization in connection with outbreaks of infectious diseases. The use of Rely+On™ Virkon™ tablets solution is normally regulated by the routines applicable to the relevant institution. Rely+On™ Virkon™ tablets has documented effect against pathogens of epidemiological interest such as viruses, bacteria, and yeasts, including HIV, Hepatitis B and C, MRSA, VRE, and Salmonella. Examples of specific organisms relevant to human infectious diseases are listed below.

Surface Disinfection
Hard surfaces: Floors, laboratory benches, bed frames, tables, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, etc. in healthcare facilities, laboratories, food handling and general institutions.
Prepare a 1% solution according to the instructions on the label. Treat the surface and keep it wet for 10 minutes. Wipe off if necessary. 

Disinfection of Objects (Centrifuges, clinical analysis equipment, pipettes etc.)
Prepare a 1% solution according to the instructions on the label. Soak the objects in the solution for 2 minutes and then wash in it. Remove from solution after a total of 10 minutes and rinse with water. Note! Some metal objects may discolor

PREPARATION OF THE SOLUTION 

Add 1 tablet to 500 ml lukewarm water. Mix well until the tablet has dissolved and the solution turns pink. 1% Rely+On™ Virkon™ tablet solution is stable for 5 days. Recommended good practice is to renew the solution daily.
